If the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, then Nathan Richie is no exception. His exposure, influence and training started at an early age looking over his father’s shoulder. First in his father’s St. Louis, Missouri photography studio and then watching his “Ad Man” father provide customers with sales tools utilizing both audio and visual.

Richie recalls, “Back in the 70’s before Beta, VHS and digital formats, my Dad spent hours editing reel-to-reel tape and music together with his stunning photography to make these beautiful multi-media presentations for his clients. We always had turntables, a reel-to-reel machine and a microphone as part of our entertainment center…and I often ended up being the featured child model because I was cheap labor”. Later, as a Public Relations Director and fund raiser for a college, his father even hosted a local radio show on WOAP in Owosso, Michigan.

For 25 years, Richie has also been involved in the radio industry both as talent and vendor of marketing expertise. It comes as no surprise much of Richie’s marketing acumen comes from the promotionally charged industry. The creative, time sensitive, life-style specific nature of the medium and the art of the special relationship on-air personalities and musicians have with the audience holds a special place in his heart. It’s a powerful force and more importantly a powerful sales tool. Over the years, Richie has proven his worth both in front and behind the microphone as host, competent media salesman, Promotions and Marketing Director, and Executive Producer.

Richie has appeared in numerous television commercials and industrial video training tools and his voice can be heard on various businesses for their on-hold and directory information systems.

Nate On-Air

Nathan Richie unwinds with his passion for music and radio as he hosts New Rock every weekend on Clear Channel Charlotte's WEND - 106.5 on the FM dial, streaming at 1065.com.

Sunday nights from 10 PM to Midnight he hosts "End Sessions" featuring live and acoustic favorites from the New Rock and Alternative artists that visit the 1065 Green Room.

Martial Arts

Nathan Richie is a martial artist, actively training and teaching under the King Tiger Tae Kwon Do Association. He currently holds the rank of 3rd Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, an Internationally KTA Certified Instructor and a Philippine Stick and Knife Combatives Apprentice Instructor. He'll complete his 4th degree Master’s in late 2009.
